West Shore Backcountry ski tour

Not a Bad View of Lake Tahoe...
Hollie and I got in the backcountry this morning up in Tahoe with our friends, Rick, Susan, Deb and Craig. Lots of new snow and one hell of a steep skin track up

Hollie on the split board

When we lived in Utah we used to do this quite a bit...but hollie snowshoed. Skinning is much faster! The heavy powder today affectionately known as "Sierra Cement" reminded us how much we love Utah

Almost to the top.
Hardly any wind today and temps in the 30's. Beautiful day

I love a good tour.

loving old man winter

I think Udo was born to be a sled dog. He pulled so hard
since the weather was so awful yesterday we did not venture too high up the mountain. We did not need to go to far because the snow is soooo low.

Couldnt be happier

Tons of snow. We had a great time snowshoeing yesterday. The only downer was the fact that I got the truck stuck and it took about an hour to recover the vehicle. I had nothing i needed. thankfully a passer by lent us a shovel. I could have used a wench and a tree saver for sure!

travel van

I think if this vehicle had single rear wheel I would sell everything I own, except a bike and a camera and take off forever.

Little bit of motoing

I wonder how that cart is going to get retrieved?
This cart is or was used for transporting goods across the south fork of the yuba down at jones bar...only it has been let go and is a bit a drift!

Hollie ripping up the fire road

Down by the river.
We are lucky in the fact that we can ride out our door on dirt and find good terrain to keep the skills sharp on the moto.

Believe it or not, but I won that sweet KLIM jacket in a drawing at www.klimusa.com

Low water
Unfortunately the water is kind of low right now, that pool behind us is pretty much at summer height and its February...I hate to say it, but bring on the rain and snow!
